Bilecik, lying in the
green fertile lands of the river valley, is the eastern neighbor of
Bursa. It has been the home to many civilizations such as Hittites,
Phyrigians, Lycians, Persians and Macedonians and is actually
considered the birthplace of the Ottoman Empire.
The dances are usually accompanied by singing and generally
danced with men and women separately. Women generally dance as partners
and play spoons as they are dancing. Dances move intermittently between
slow and fast rhythms.
